This specimen features two hematitic included yellow fluorite crystals coated in a druse of colourless quartz and white/grey calcite crystals. Under ultraviolet (UV) light, the specimen displays remarkable fluorescence. The specimen originates from a significant fluorite deposit in Newfoundland, a site with a history of intermittent mining activity spanning several decades. It was acquired from a former manager of the AGS who was directly involved in the mine's operations. The mine is currently inactive, with no immediate plans for reopening. However, future exploitation of the site remains a possibility depending on economic and operational conditions.
