The Nikolayevsky Mine is one of Kazakhstan's classic fluorite localities, producing attractive specimens from hydrothermal veins associated with the region's polymetallic ore deposits. Collectors prize the locality for its well-formed fluorite crystals, often found in association with sparkling drusy quartz.
This aesthetic miniature features pale mint-green fluorite crystals measuring up to 10 mm perched on a glittering matrix of white drusy quartz. The fluorite occurs as sharp octahedra with frosted faces. An added highlight is the specimen's vivid blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light, which dramatically transforms its appearance in the dark. A fine representative of this classic fluorite occurrence. Ex. Peter Tarassoff collection.
