This specimen features a mass of pale green fluorite octahedra, complemented by a druse of colourless quartz crystals. Under ultraviolet (UV) light, the fluorite exhibits remarkable fluorescence, emitting a captivating light blue glow. This specimen hails from a significant fluorite deposit in Newfoundland, a location with a history of intermittent mining activity spanning several decades. The specimen was acquired from a former manager of the AGS, who played a direct role in the mine's operations. Although the mine is currently inactive with no immediate plans for reopening, the potential for future exploitation remains, contingent upon economic and operational conditions. This specimen not only showcases the unique mineral characteristics but also represents the rich mining history of the region.
