This palm-sized specimen features transparent yellow fluorite accompanied by sparkling golden pyrite and minor quartz crystals over much of the surfaces. The specimen comes from the AGS Fluorite Deposit in Newfoundland, discovered during a diamond drilling program in 2013. The deposit is hosted in meta-sediments intruded by rhyolite sills and dykes. These specimens were acquired from a former AGS mine manager. The site is currently closed, with no known plans for reopening. The specimen is exceptional for the locality, yellow being one of the more rare colours for the locality. Fluoresces either white or pink under UV.
