This specimen features a beautiful drusy coating of purple micro fluorite crystals filling the face of a vug, accompanied by colourless acicular dawsonite crystals, creating a visually stunning display under the microscope. Scattered across the surface are metallic marcasite crystals, adding further complexity and interest to the specimen. Originating from the Francon Quarry in central Montreal, this location is renowned for its unique alkalic intrusive sill in limestone. The quarry ceased operations in 1981 and will never reopen, rendering specimens from this site particularly rare and highly valuable to collectors. The combination of fluorite, dawsonite, and marcasite in this specimen highlights the exceptional mineralogical diversity of the Francon Quarry.
