This palm-sized specimen features seafoam green fluorite, white calcite rhombs, tarnished brassy chalcopyrite pyramids, minor quartz, and minor arsenopyrite crystals. The specimen comes from the AGS Fluorite Deposit in Newfoundland, discovered during a diamond drilling program in 2013. Despite some damage to the calcite rhomb at the top left, the piece remains exceptional for the locality. The deposit is hosted in meta-sediments intruded by rhyolite sills and dykes. These specimens were acquired from a former AGS mine manager. The site is currently closed, with no known plans for reopening. The specimen fluoresces exceptionally well.
