This specimen features numerous well-formed fluorite crystals displaying a distinctive cuboctahedral habit, perched on a matrix of off-white baryte blades. The fluorite shows an icy-clear translucency with a wonderful minty-green hue, with surfaces ranging from glassy to softly satin-like lustre. The overall presentation when displayed is both delicate and visually striking, highlighting the classic crystal forms associated with this area.

The piece comes from a recently discovered claim near Madoc, Ontario, producing material reminiscent of the famous nearby Rogers Mine. Although not from the historic mine itself, the quality parallels the fine fluorite once recovered there. A beautiful and highly representative example, and a strong addition to any fluorite or Canadian mineral collection.
