Not the most well formed crystal but certainly an interesting one none-the-less. This fluorite crystal shows a cubeoctahedral habit with colour zoning where the upper portion displays a soft green colour, and the cube faces appear as purple “window panes,” that would make the thumbnail stand out in a suite due to the distinctive appearance.
The specimen comes from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia, a locality well known for producing colourful fluorite crystals in shades of green, purple, and other combinations. Material of this type was once relatively common on the market but has become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years. A worthwhile addition for collectors of fluorite or classic Erongo mineral specimens.
