This specimen consists of lilac-purple fluorite cleavages from northern British Columbia. Fluorite in this region occurs along a 17-kilometer belt near the Liard River and the Alaska Highway, with notable deposits including the Tee prospect and the Tam fluorite deposit. These occurrences are hosted in Devonian sedimentary rocks, primarily the Dunedin and Besa River formations, and represent the most significant fluorite prospects in the province. Exploration began in the 1950s, with extensive drilling and resource evaluations carried out during the 1970s and 1980s.
