This specimen features a stacked cluster of translucent to transparent, green to purple, fluorite crystals exhibiting well-defined cubo-octahedral crystal forms. Some spots display subtle internal colour zoning, a hallmark of this now-restricted locality. The site—an exposed roadcut—was once well-known among collectors for producing superbly zoned fluorite crystals with sharp faces and attractive green hues. However, the locality is now off-limits to collecting, as clearly indicated by posted warning signs near the occurrence. Specimens from this site are becoming increasingly rare, making even smaller pieces like this especially desirable for collectors.
