Fluorite

Here's a striking, glassy, sharp and lustrous cube of fluorite sitting safely in a vug in sparkly, brecciated limestone matrix and comes from the well-known limestone quarry in Flamborough, Ontario. The crystal has a light brown phantom at its centre. Under longwave UV light, the fluorite exhibits a fascinating ghostly-white fluorescence, a characteristic feature of fluorite from this locality. These cubes bear a strong resemblance to the classic fluorites from Clay Center, Ohio, but are significantly rarer in Ontario.
