Here's a striking, glassy, sharp and lustrous half-cube of fluorite (likely once attached to the wall of a vug). It sits on a sparkly, brecciated limestone matrix and comes from the well-known limestone quarry in Flamborough, Ontario. Under longwave UV light, the fluorite exhibits a fascinating ghostly-white fluorescence, a characteristic feature of fluorite from this locality. These cubes bear a strong resemblance to the classic fluorites from Clay Center, Ohio, but are significantly rarer in Ontario. Specimen is housed in a perky box for display.
