This specimen features green, massive fluorite from Val-des-Monts, near Perkins, Quebec. Composed of cleaved crystals, it represents a rare fluorite occurrence from this locality, which is not widely recognized for producing this species—with no recorded photos on Mindat as of this date. Val-des-Monts is better known for its fine specimens of fluor-elbaite, rutile, diopside, and blue fluorapatite. This makes the presence of fluorite at the site an unusual and noteworthy find.
