This specimen may not feature the most well-formed or complete apatite crystal, but what makes it intriguing is the amount of dark purple fluorite filling its crevices, creating an unusual and striking combination. It was likely unearthed decades ago at the Dwyer Fluorite Mine in Haliburton, Ontario, although the original label doesn’t specify the exact locality, so we can’t be certain. Nonetheless, it makes for a fascinating piece from the Grenville geological region.
