Fluorapatite

Wakefield area, La Pêche, Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais RCM, Outaouais, Québec
Canada
Dimensions: 2.5x0.9x0.6 cm
Price: CA

$35.00

This attractive thumbnail specimen features a doubly terminated fluorapatite crystal displaying a delicate light sea-foam green colour. The crystal is well formed, with clean terminations and good translucency, making it a pleasing and balanced example for its size.

The specimen was collected from the Wakefield area of Québec, a classic Grenville Province locality known for producing fluorapatite. Apatite from this region formed within calcite-rich veins and skarn-related assemblages associated with high-grade metamorphism. While Wakefield apatite is well known among collectors, clean, doubly terminated crystals with attractive colour are comparatively scarce, making this a desirable thumbnail from a well-established Canadian locality.
