Fluorapatite

This striking miniature specimen features a single, sharply defined green-blue fluorapatite prism with classic hexagonal prism form and a flat pinacoidal termination on the top, showcasing excellent crystallographic form. The crystal exhibits a clean, glassy lustre and good colour saturation, typical of high-quality fluorapatite from Val-des-Monts, a notable Quebec locality.

On one side, the prism is intergrown with a black amphibole, while the reverse side reveals a contact point where another crystal once grew. Compact yet aesthetically well-balanced, this miniature is an elegant display piece that highlights both the sharp form and vibrant colour of this lovely Canadian mineral.
