This specimen features an exposed dark blue fluorapatite crystal partially embedded in white calcite. It originates from the Mulvaney property, a well-known site among local New York rockhounds. The area is characterized by marble rich in skarn zones formed around syenite intrusions. Blue fluorapatite crystals from this locality are exceptionally rare and highly sought after.
