This specimen features a somewhat tabular fluorapatite crystal with some roughness but good terminations and prism for the most part. The crystal originates from a modern-day classic Grenville locality, popular with Ontario rockhounds, known as the Smart Mine, or "Miller Property." This locality, a calcite vein-dyke system, was once mined for fluorapatite such as this, which was used in the production of fertilizers.
