This specimen features a fair-sized fluorapatite crystal with some roughness around the terminations and minor chipping in a few spots. Both ends are terminated. The crystal originates from a modern-day classic Grenville locality, popular with Ontario rockhounds, known as the Smart Mine, or "Miller Property." This locality, a calcite vein-dyke system, was once mined for fluorapatite such as this, which was used in the production of fertilizers.
