This specimen features a finger-sized fluorapatite crystal with an interesting bend in the prism. One can actually see wrinkling on the bend where the crystal went under extreme heat and pressure. The terminations are not perfect, one end missing the termination, the other end is pretty good though. The crystal originates from a modern-day classic Grenville locality, popular with Ontario rockhounds, known as the Smart Mine, or "Miller Property." This locality, a calcite vein-dyke system, was once mined for fluorapatite, which was used in the production of fertilizers.
