This road-cut is renowned for its calcite vein dyke deposits that produce blue apatite crystals. The roadcut features a friable matrix composed primarily of coarse-grained white calcite and striking blue fluorapatite. Unlike many Grenville Province marbles and vein-dykes, this deposit is free of amphiboles, feldspar, or other common silicates. The specimen displays a lustrous light blue fluorapatite crystal perched prominently atop the matrix. One end of the crystal is nicely terminated, while the other remains embedded in calcite.
