A striking, small cabinet specimen of a lustrous, doubly terminated, variegated apatite crystal, very nicely set in contrasting orange calcite matrix from the famous Yates Mine, at Otter Lake, Quebec. The prism is wonderfully smooth with a gemmy green termination that comes to a point. While seamlessly integrated on the calcite, I did put a little bit of glue at the base just to reinforce the crystals onto the host rock. This is a common practice for fluorapatite specimens from the region as they can easily pop right off the matrix. Displays well and is an excellent example for the locality!
