"Portion of tourmaline xl.: striated prism with triangular cross-section (combination of first, m, and a second, a, order prisms) and rhombohedral termination. Colour zoned: Thin olive green to black outer zone, green inside across prism; black termination. Translucent to transparent, with gemmy areas. Collected by P. Tarasoff, 24 May 1969."
Condition-wise, this is one of the best fluor-elbaite tourmalines I've seen from this locality. Glassy prism, wonderful blue-green interior, and an excellent termination. These specimens are almost always broken in-situ, making this a significant tourmaline specimen for Canada!
