This specimen features tabular white crystals of edingtonite, an uncommon barium-rich zeolite. Edingtonite is a rare member of the zeolite group and is found in only about two dozen localities worldwide. Some of the finest examples come from the Ice River Alkaline Complex in British Columbia, Canada, known for producing sharp, lustrous prismatic orthorhombic crystals of this species.
The crystals in this specimen are especially well-formed, displaying the characteristic high luster and sharp edges typical of edingtonite from this remote locality. Collected decades ago, specimens from the Ice River Alkaline Complex are now rarely available, making this an exceptional and sought-after piece for collectors of rare minerals.
