This specimen has maybe the most dresserite I've ever seen filling the inside of a vug, accompanied by numerous grey weloganite crystals. Dresserite is an incredibly rare barium aluminum carbonate species found only in the alkalic sill of limestone at the Francon Quarry. Named after Canadian geologist John Dresser in 1968, the species honors his significant contributions to the knowledge of the Monteregian Hills, where the Francon Quarry is located. This specimen was collected by Dr. Tarassoff in 1995, specimens of this quality and rarity are increasingly uncommon, highlighting the exceptional nature of this particular find. The quarry ceased operations in 1981 and will never reopen, making specimens from this location particularly valuable to collectors.
