Dolomite (cobalt-bearing), Mottramite

From the world-renowned Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, this specimen is adorned with brilliantly sparkling, soft pink cobalt-bearing dolomite crystals, their delicate rhombic forms clearly defined despite their small size. These sit atop a dark green, botryoidal mottramite matrix. While dolomite is a widespread mineral, fine-quality cobalt-bearing examples like this are highly prized for their vivid coloration and the unique mineralogical associations that only Tsumeb could produce.
