This specimen showcases a cluster of black diopside crystals, with one particularly prominent crystal at the centre. The specimen is a floater, showing no signs of contact with the host rock. While the lustre isn't entirely perfect, with some matte patches on the surface, its size makes it a standout piece for this locality. To fully appreciate its physical properties, be sure to watch the video below. The specimen hails from a renowned Grenville pegmatite collecting locality in Quebec. "Zec" stands for "Zone d'Exploitation Contrôlée," meaning a controlled exploration zone.
