Canada

A small cluster of semi-translucent fairly lustrous greenish-brown diopside. The specimen comes from a diopside skarn at the contact between a pegmatitic syenite and marble on a small unnamed island near MacDonald Island on the south coast of Baffin Island. This is the same location that is known for producing excellent black spinel. It's a good specimen from an extremely remote locality!
