This is a fine-quality specimen featuring crystallized cuprite from the legendary Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The specimen features sharp, highly lustrous crystals with a rich red-wine colouration with a silvery metallic sheen. The Cuprite crystals, measuring up to a couple of millimeters, are well-protected within a sheltered vug on matrix. Predominantly octahedral in habit, several crystals also display subtle cubic and dodecahedral modifications. A superb miniature that captures the depth of colour, brilliance, and form for which Tsumeb Cuprites are so admired.
