Cornwall is renowned for its exceptional mineral specimens, and one notable species from some Cornish mines is cuprite crystals. This specimen features numerous well-formed, predominately cubic, cuprite crystals. It originates from a great old locality that has become increasingly rare, especially on this side of the Atlantic. This particular piece was acquired by Dr. Tarassoff during an exchange with the British Museum of Natural History several decades ago. The specimen, originally comes from R. Talling (1820-1883), a noted Cornish mineral dealer. Comes with a BMNH label.
