This specimen features a prismatic, doubly terminated sapphire crystal beautifully embedded in a calcite matrix. The crystal displays a rich cornflower-blue colour. Hailing from the renowned Mogok region, this sapphire makes for an excellent thumbnail, as corundum crystals from this locality are more commonly rubies or pink sapphires, making this blue variety particularly special.
