This specimen features crimson red cinnabar from the Pinchi Lake locality in British Columbia, Canada. It occurs in quartz-carbonate veins within altered volcanic rocks. Pinchi Lake is one of the few known Canadian sources of cinnabar, and specimens from this locality are both rare and highly sought after by collectors.
Associated sulfides, including pyrite and chalcopyrite, add visual contrast and highlight the classic hydrothermal mineralization of the region. A superb example of one of Canada’s most historically significant mercury mineral localities.
