A fine example of chrysoberyl from Espírito Santo, Brazil, a region renowned for its iconic specimens with instantly recognizable colour and form. While most chrysoberyls from this area exhibit twinning, this piece appears to be a rare untwinned crystal, though I am not 100% sure. The crystal features smooth, sharp, well-formed faces and reveals a mix of greenish-yellow, brown, and orange hues when backlit. It is in excellent condition, with minimal damage at the base where it was removed from the host rock. Untwinned chrysoberyls like this are exceedingly uncommon, as the majority from this locality exhibit the characteristic sixling twinning.
