This specimen consists of a brown igneous rock with black chromite microcrystals scattered throughout. Most of the crystals show cleavages, there are a couple crystal faces showing. It originates from Bay d’Espoir, a fjord-like inlet extending from Hermitage Bay along the south coast of Newfoundland.
