A micro specimen hosting a delicate yellowish charmarite crystals, perched within a small cavity on matrix. The crystals display the subtle, slightly resinous to vitreous lustre typical of this rare manganese-bearing silicate.
Charmarite is an uncommon mineral from the Mont Saint-Hilaire alkaline complex, typically forming as a late-stage phase in highly evolved pegmatitic environments. Well-formed crystals are seldom encountered, particularly as isolated, displayable groups such as those seen here. A fine example of this rare species and an excellent addition to any species-level or Mont Saint-Hilaire-focused collection.
