This specimen of chalcopyrite on dolomite comes from the Buick Mine in Bixby, Viburnum Trend District, Iron County, Missouri. Discovered in 1960, the mine began production in 1969 and is known for its polymetallic deposits. High-quality display specimens are rare from this locality, making this piece an excellent example. The chalcopyrite features well-formed, brassy crystals with an iridescent sheen, measuring up to 6 mm on a grey dolomitic matrix. As an older piece from early mining periods, specimens of this caliber are seldom found on the market today.
