This specimen features an iridescent coating of chalcopyrite on scalenohedral calcite crystals from the from the Edong Mining District, China. Most likely the Fengjishan Mine. The chalcopyrite almost entirely coats the surface of one side exhibiting golden iridescence with a bit of red. The specimen is in great condition, with only minor bruising and was attached on the back. The overall appearance is reminiscent of material found at the Brushy Creek mine in Missouri. This is a noteworthy addition to any collection of Chinese material.
