Cerussite epimorphs after Galena, Fluorite

A highly unusual association specimen from the rarely encountered Heson (Hesson) Mine, Arizona, featuring a quartz rich, siliceous, matrix covered with cerussite epimorphs over cubic galena in association with octahedral purple to green fluorite. The cerussite occurs both as intricate microcrystalline aggregates and as remarkable epimorphs after galena, preserving the sharp cubic form of the original lead sulfide crystals. Unlike some of the other examples I've seen these ones are not complete replacements of the galena, but coat the galena instead. Cubes measuring up to approximately 11 mm.

Associated green and purple fluorite can be seen on the specimen but are not the most well formed. Located within the remote Buckskin Mountains of La Paz County, the Heson Mine produced limited lead mineralization, and specimens from this locality are rarely encountered on the market. It makes this an excellent representative specimen from a little-known world fluorite locality and a desirable piece for collectors of cerussite, pseudomorphs, or classic Arizona minerals.
