A fine specimen from the historic Old Luganure Mine on the north side of Camaderry Mountain, County Wicklow, Ireland, featuring a vug filled with many well-formed cerussite crystals. The cerussite occurs as lustrous, pale crystals typical of the species from this classic locality.
The Luganure Mine, part of the well-known Glendalough mining district, was historically worked for lead and produced secondary minerals such as cerussite through the oxidation of galena within the deposit. Well-crystallized cerussite from this locality is not commonly encountered, making this a lovely representative example of this scarce Irish material.
