Canada is not widely recognized for cerussite specimens, but this thumbnail example originates from the historic Society Girl Mine, a small lead-zinc deposit worked in the early 1900s. The piece consists of what is essentially a mass of cerussite with some visible crystals in some of the vugs, including one well formed crystal right on top. It was collected from the waste rock dumps of this long-closed mine. Such specimens are uncommon, this one is an older matrix example representative of the locality.
