Cerussite is one of the hallmark species from Tsumeb, renowned for producing some of the finest examples of this lead carbonate. Many cerussites from Tsumeb display twinning, and this specimen is a classic example, featuring a sharp, well-formed, cyclically twinned crystal with a gemmy, soft champaigne hue. The iconic reticulated or "snowflake" form, this thumbnail shows one prominent crystal extending vertically and two shorter twins branching off to the side. Despite its age, this old-timer remains in remarkable condition, it has sharply defined edges, and excellent terminations, with only minor roughness and a touch of bruising that do not detract from its overall elegance.
