Canada is not widely recognized for cerussite specimens, but this example originates from the historic Society Girl Mine, a small lead-zinc deposit worked in the early 1900s. The piece consists of a lump of cerussite with small crystals scattered in pockets throughout, collected from the waste rock dumps of this long-closed mine. Such specimens are uncommon, this one is an older matrix example representative of the species and the locality.
