Celestine, Calcite

A handsome miniature from the famous Dundas Quarry area of southwestern Ontario, featuring stout, pale blue celestine crystals with sharp terminations accented by honey-coloured dogtooth calcite crystals. Making for an especially attractive representative of this classic Canadian locality.

The Dundas Quarry has produced some of Ontario's finest celestine specimens for well over a century, although intact crystals have always been difficult to recover due to their fragile nature and the blasting required during quarrying. With collecting no longer permitted, quality specimens from this historic locality have become increasingly desirable among Canadian mineral collectors.
