This specimen features mostly cleaved carletonite but retains some well-formed, lustrous crystal faces. Carletonite is one of the classic minerals from Mount Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, renowned as one of the most mineralogically diverse localities worldwide. This attractive miniature-sized piece showcases the characteristic coloration of the species, with white edges grading into the classic indigo-blue hue in the vugs. The crystal is contacted but remains a fine example of this ultimately rare mineral species, which is found exclusively at the Poudrette Quarry.
