This striking palm-sized specimen from the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, is entirely encrusted with sparkling, glittering calcite crystals that give the piece a brilliant appearance. At the very top sits a rounded ball of green malachite. The association of malachite with calcite is classic for Tsumeb, but specimens with such aesthetic balance and form are uncommon, making this a particularly eye-catching piece. It originates from the collection of Robert Yeoman, the Irish-born, Toronto-based collector whose assemblage is well known for fine examples from classic world localities.
