This specimen features one dominant dogtooth calcite crystal on matrix, with a number of smaller ones surrounding it. The crystal displays the golden-peach coloration characteristic of this locality. The quarry, in operation since 1970 by Allied Chemicals Limited, is an immense open-pit site accessible to collectors only through organized mineral club visits. This particular piece was collected in 2023 during a field trip, from a boulder on the quarry floor. One of the crystals shows minor tip damage, though it does not detract from the overall presentation, especially the more prominent crystal positioned lower on the specimen. Under UV light, the calcite fluoresces pink or orange depending on the wavelength.
