This specimen is a beautifully formed stalactitic grouping of crystallized calcite from Bisbee, Arizona. It features colourless, cave-grown calcite with excellent translucence. While Bisbee is best known for its world-class copper minerals, it has also yielded a range of other notable species—including these attractive calcite formations.
Historically, many of Bisbee’s underground orebodies were overlain by natural caves, and miners occasionally recovered specimens from these now largely inaccessible chambers.
