Here's a charming specimen of clear calcite, from the Grant Quarry, in Gloucester. The main crystal shows an interior phantom from a previous state when the calcite was entirely coated in small marcasite and pyrite crystals. The main crystal is "crowned" by several smaller doubly-terminated crystals. Some dolomite attached to specimen as well. Neat!
The quarry is part of the Beekmantown Formation that shows up at several locations, From Saratoga Springs NY, through Herkimer NY, St-Clothilde Quebec, St-Eustache Quebec to Greely Ontario.
