This specimen features tightly intergrown radial tufts of golden-yellow to yellow-brown fibers that cover patches of the miniature sample. It is most likely from the Union Carbide Mine, though very rare it is a known locality for Cocoxenite. Cocoxenite is an uncommon complex phosphate secondary mineral, typically found in oxidized zones of phosphatic magnetite deposits, novaculites, phosphate-rich pegmatites, and occasionally in iron-rich sediments and soils. Cocoxenite is recognized for its rarity and striking fibrous appearance, making this specimen a noteworthy example for mineral collectors.
