Translucent, shimmering, acicular emerald-green sprays of brochantite fill every nook and cranny of the limonite matrix. Brochantite, a sulfate mineral, is one of several cupric sulfates that form in arid climates or rapidly oxidizing copper sulfide deposits. This specimen looks particularly beautiful under magnification.
